Anatomical Implants Anatomical implant is generally related to the implantation of breasts. Anatomical implant is also called as contour implant. This is one of the types of breast implantation. This was developed to reconstruct the breast structure of the patients. The tear like and bottom heavy appearance of the breast gives it a natural look. Thus anatomical type of implant is considered to be the better option during implantation. Anatomical implant is a comparatively difficult task to do. This is because it requires a well-experienced surgeon. This is because this type of implantation needs proper placement of the breast during implantation. The positioning of the breast should be done properly. Any type of shifting or flipping in case of the breast during implantation can cause a total distortion of the breast can make a distorted shape. Structure wise the anatomical implant looks different from different views. From the front view it is oval in shape. From the side view the anatomical breast is heavy or large in size at the bottom than at the top part. A large volume of the anatomical implant is at the bottom portion of the breast. The anatomical implant has a textured surface. This textured surface allows a good integration with the breast tissue that lie in the surroundings. The advantage of this type of implantation is that the shape is retained for a longer period as compared to any other type. The forward projection in case of the anatomical implant is much better than the round type of implant. As it lays emphasis on texture the tissues surrounding the implant can become more sensitive than normal. The length of the anatomical implant is more than the width of the implant. It is because of this reason that for the women with a smaller chest cavity it is difficult to carry the anatomical implant. |
