A brachioplasty (alternatively referred to as an arm lift procedure) is a surgical method used to lessen the appearance of flabby skin and extra fat in the upper arm area. When a person ages, the skin in this area can be seen to droop and loosen, while the underlying muscle and bone can thin, adding to the sagging appearance. A brachioplasty procedure can help by lifting and tightening the drooping tissue.

During this procedure, an incision is made in the inner arm and excess skin is removed. The incision is usually placed in an area where the remaining arm tissue can be easily and effectively tightened, and where the scar can be hidden easily.
