Textured Implants

The textured type of implants have a rough outer surfaces compared to the other type of implants. The roughness is introduced because that creates cohesion between the implants and the tissues surrounding the implants. This also helps the textured implant to maintain a proper vertical alignment with the body. There is a phenomenon called as the capsular contracture. In this case there are tissues that grow around the breast and make the breast to squeeze the new implant. It is because of this that the implant becomes harder than it actually was.

The basic reason behind developing the textured type of implant was to overcome the problem of capsular contracture. One more advantage accompanied with the textured type of implant is that they do not face the problem for positioning the implant. The point with the textures type of implant is that they face the problem of rippling. Also there are no strong evidences that show the problem of capsular contracture to be reduced. Also the cost factor is important here. The texture type of breast implant is more costly than the smooth type of implants. The textured type of implants also faces the problem of leaking.
